MAMA 2017 Red Carpet
The hottest celebrities looked dazzling at the 2017 Mnet Music Awards in Hong Kong red carpet. From their trendy suits to stunning gowns, they are absolutely the epitome of fashion.
Let's start with male celebrities in no particular order!
Male Celebrities:
GOT7
Got7 (Hangul: 갓세븐) is a South Korean boy group formed by JYP Entertainment. The group is composed of seven members: JB, Mark, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam, and Yugyeom.
Got7 debuted in January 2014 with the release of their first EP Got It?, which peaked at number two on the Gaon Album Chart and number one on Billboard's World Albums Chart. The group gained attention for their stage performances, which include elements of martial arts tricking.
NCT-127
NCT (Hangul: 엔시티) is a South Korean boy group formed by S.M. Entertainment. Their name stands for the Hallyu localization project Neo Culture Technology, a term coined by S.M. Entertainment founder Lee Soo-man to describe the group's concept of having an unlimited number of members divided into multiple sub-units based in various cities worldwide.
The group's six-member unit NCT U made their debut in April 2016 with digital singles "The 7th Sense", and "Without You." The second unit, NCT 127 based in Seoul, made their debut in July 2016 with the mini album NCT #127. The third unit, NCT Dream made their debut in August 2016 with digital single "Chewing Gum". Subsequent units are expected to debut in China, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia.
Super Junior
Super Junior (Korean: 슈퍼주니어; Syupeo Junieo), also known as simply SJ or SUJU, is a South Korean boy band. Formed in 2005 by producer Lee Soo-man of S.M. Entertainment, the group comprised a total of thirteen members at its peak. Super Junior originally debuted with twelve members, consisting of leader Leeteuk, Heechul, Hangeng, Yesung, Kangin, Shindong, Sungmin, Eunhyuk, Siwon, Donghae, Ryeowook and Kibum. Kyuhyun joined the group in 2006.
Super Junior launched into international recognition following the release of their best-selling single "Sorry, Sorry" in 2009, the title song of their most critically successful album, Sorry, Sorry. Over the years, they have been divided into smaller groups, simultaneously targeting different music industries and audiences. Individually, the members have also branched out into hosting, presenting and acting and their successes and popularity as all-rounded entertainers have led other Korean entertainment managements to begin training their music groups in other aspects of the entertainment industry.
EXO
Exo (Korean: 엑소; stylized as EXO) is a South Korean-Chinese boy group based in Seoul. Formed by S.M. Entertainment in 2011, the group debuted in 2012 with twelve members separated into two subgroups, Exo-K (Suho, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, and Sehun) and Exo-M (Xiumin, Lay, Chen and former members Kris, Luhan and Tao), performing music in Korean and Mandarin respectively. Exo's first album XOXO (2013), which contained the breakthrough hit "Growl", was a critical and commercial success, winning both Disk Daesang at the 28th Golden Disk Awards and Album of the Year at the 15th Mnet Asian Music Awards. It sold over one million copies, making Exo the best-selling Korean artist in twelve years. Subsequent albums and EPs continued with strong sales, and Exo were ranked the most influential celebrity by Forbes Korea Power Celebrity for the years 2014 and 2015. They have been named "the biggest boyband in the world" by media outlets.
Monsta X - Jooheon
Monsta X (Hangul: 몬스타엑스; often stylized as MONSTA X) is a South Korean boy group formed by Starship Entertainment through the survival show No.Mercy on Mnet in 2015. The group is composed of seven members: Jooheon, Shownu, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Wonho, Minhyuk, and I.M.
The group debuted on May 14, 2015 with their first EP Trespass. In March 2017 Monsta X released their first studio album and final part of "The Clan" series, The Clan Pt. 2.5: The Final Chapter, which consist of their third and fourth extended play, The Clan Pt. 1 Lost and The Clan Pt. 2 Guilty, both released in 2016. In May 2017, Monsta X signed with Mercury Tokyo and debuted with the single "Hero" in Japan.
Song Joong Ki
Song Joong-ki (Hangul: 송중기; born September 19, 1985) is a South Korean actor. He rose to fame in the historical drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal (2010) and the variety show Running Man as one of the original cast members when it premiered in 2010. Song played his first TV leading role in the melodrama The Innocent Man (2012). He has also starred in feature films, notably as the title character in the box office hit A Werewolf Boy (2012).
After completing his mandatory military service, Song took on the lead role in the pan-Asia hit drama Descendants of the Sun (2016) which cemented his status as a top Hallyu star. He placed 7th in Forbes Korea Power Celebrity list in 2013, and ranked 2nd in 2017.
Wanna One
Wanna One (Hangul: 워너원) is a South Korean boy band formed by CJ E&M through the 2017 series Produce 101 Season 2. The group is composed of eleven members: Kang Daniel, Park Ji-hoon, Lee Dae-hwi, Kim Jae-hwan, Ong Seong-wu, Park Woo-jin, Lai Kuan-lin, Yoon Ji-sung, Hwang Min-hyun, Bae Jin-young and Ha Sung-woon. The group debuted on August 7, 2017 and will be promoting until December 31, 2018 under YMC Entertainment and CJ E&M.
Day 6
Day6 (Hangul: 데이식스) is a South Korean band formed by JYP Entertainment. The band's current line-up consists of five members: Jae, Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon. The band debuted with the release of their first EP, The Day on September 7, 2015.
Shinee - Taemin
Lee Tae-min (born July 18, 1993), better known by the mononym Taemin, is a South Korean singer and actor. He debuted as a vocalist of the group Shinee in May 2008 under S.M. Entertainment. He began his acting career in 2009 with MBC's comedy Tae Hee, Hye Kyo, Ji Hyun as Junsu.
Taemin began his solo career in 2014 with his first extended play, Ace. It peaked at number one on South Korea's Gaon Album Chartand its title track reached number 5 on the Gaon Weekly Digital Chart. His first studio album, Press it (2016), charted at number one on the Gaon Album Chart. The title track, "Press Your Number", was originally written by Bruno Mars but Taemin wrote new lyrics for the song in order to appeal to the Korean market. In July, 2016, Taemin released his second extended play, Solitary Goodbye, and made his solo debut in Japan.
BTS
BTS, also known as Bangtan Boys or Beyond The Scene, is a seven-member South Korean boy band formed by Big Hit Entertainment. They debuted on June 12, 2013 with the song "No More Dream" from their first album 2 Cool 4 Skool, for which they won several New Artist of the Year awards, including at the 2013 Melon Music Awards and Golden Disc Awards and the 2014 Seoul Music Awards. The band continued to rise to widespread prominence with their subsequent albums Dark & Wild(2014), The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 2 (2015) and The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever (2016), with the latter two entering the U.S. Billboard 200. The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever went on to win the Album of the Year award at the 2016 Melon Music Awards.
